Aaaaawwww. Thanks, Second Anon. That means a lot!

It has taken me close to two years now to really develop an identity for the blog that holds all my diverse interests together. In addition to being a practicing Buddhist, I’m also a writer, a college professor, a techie, and a few other things.

A quick back story: “Dharma Simulation” was originally the name of my blogspot before Tumblr ever existed, but, like many blogspots, I had no audience outside of my friends. For some reason, it didn’t occur to me until a couple of months ago to rewaken it here. For most of my life on Tumblr, I’ve been “Probably Misremembered,” which was a slightly confusing title for a blog, even for me: I didn’t really have a sense of who I was, yet, as a blogger, and didn’t know what tags I wanted to consistently blog to (PM is a phrase from one of my poems).

When I started thinking about rebranding the blog, I started looking for definitions of the word “dharma,” a word I’ve loved since I first heard it, and found one I really liked, which is basically the first part of my description “the teachings of the buddha as they are applied to the problem of human suffering.” This combined with another love of mine, philosophy, and my firm belief that a lot of the issues we face in the world today stem from the way what we consider to be “real” is shifting dramatically.
